Garden Bed Cleanup & Planting

The finish work that separates a mowed yard from a landscaped one.

Beds cleared, weeded and reshaped, plants put in, fertilizer laid. This is the part people notice without being able to say why.

What's included

Everything in this job, spelled out.

  • Weeds hand-pulled from beds. Flower beds, mulch beds, bark and gravel areas — pulled, not just cut.
  • Bed lines reshaped. Cut back to a clean, deliberate edge instead of a line that's drifted.
  • Plants put in. Placed with room to grow into, not crowded to look full on day one.
  • Fertilizer laid. So what goes in actually takes.
  • Plants and shrubs trimmed. Cut back and shaped so the healthy growth gets light, leaves and sticks cleared out.
  • Finished with bark if you want it. Bark over a freshly cleared bed is what makes it read as done.

How it works

Three steps, no runaround.

1

Walk the beds

Tell us what you want to keep, what you want gone, and whether you have plants in mind.

2

Clear and reshape

Beds stripped back to soil and the edges cut to a clean line.

3

Plant and finish

Plants in, fertilizer down, bark on top if that's part of the job.

“They did an amazing job!!!! They were fast and thorough. I would highly recommend them.”

Questions

What people ask before they book.

Do you pick the plants, or do I?
Either. Some people know exactly what they want; most would rather tell us the look they're after and how much upkeep they're willing to do, and let us suggest what does well here.
When's the best time to plant?
Fall and spring are both good in this valley — fall especially, because the rain does the watering for you while roots establish. Mid-summer planting needs more attention from you.
Can you just do the cleanup without planting?
Yes. A lot of beds don't need new plants, they need the weeds out and the edge cut back.
Will the weeds come back?
Some always do. Cleared beds finished with bark, and kept up on a maintenance schedule, stay ahead of it. Cleared once and left alone, they'll be back within a season.
